Really loved the vibes here - very modern and upscale Vietnamese place. I liked the concept because I feel like there's not too many upscale places with very traditional Vietnamese food. We made a reservation and seated quickly with good service, they made good recommendations. I loved the banh cuon and banh kot was good as well. I would say that there's better Vietnamese food at the cheaper traditional places but mostly came for the vibes.

This place had a cute, casual vibe. Service was solid, nothing to complain about there. Tried the Bo ne, which is Vietnamese steak and eggs. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. Wouldn't go back just for that dish. I also got the fish cake burger with egg - can't remember the exact name, but wow. Seriously one of the best new things I've eaten in the city in a long time. I believe they had just added this on to the menu (that's what our server said). Just for this dish alone, I'd come back and explore more of the menu!

I was so surprised by how amazing Bodega was, and, despite my initial skepticism about trying this modern twist on Vietnamese cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Bodega manages to blend traditional Vietnamese flavors with a modern twist, making for a memorable dining experience. The drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, were another highlight. They offer a great selection of beverages that perfectly complement the food. The modern twist on traditional Vietnamese flavors in their cocktails was particularly enjoyable. Each drink was expertly crafted and refreshing, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Viet Coffee: The Best I've Ever Had As a coffee enthusiast, I have to mention their Viet coffee. It was hands down the best I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, it was the perfect end to a fantastic meal. If you're a coffee lover, this is an absolute must-try. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Bodega has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite restaurants in San Francisco.

This is a long overdue review of one of my favorite restaurants in SF. Bodega offers high-end Vietnamese cuisine and my favorites have been the banh cuon (fresh rice rolls with ground pork, wood ear mushrooms, crispy shallots), whole fish (branzino) and the pandan mochi with lychee ice cream. At a recent outing with my friend, we tried these "must order" items as well as the Nem Cua (Dungeness crab, shrimp, jicama, shiitake mushroom, carrot, vermicelli) and they had a salted egg fried rice special that day that came with tiger prawns. The food here is consistently great. The service can be spotty at times but still relatively good. Prices are really good - you can get a huge dinner and drink for under $100 a person, which is really great value these days. The restaurant is nice and has a very warm feeling to it. It's a type of restaurant that works for someone who just wants to sit at the bar or with a good group of friends. Highly, highly recommended if you are in the area.

We visited for a weekday lunch. They specialize in Northern Vietnamese cuisine. I was impressed by the spot on flavor profiles. We were one of just a few tables during lunch so the kitchen had no issues making our food.

Amazing amazing sea food. The tiger prawns and prawn fried rice was the best prawns I ever had. Very nice ambience and splendid service. I didn't try Bun Cha and Banh Cuon but my colleagues did. And they loved it.

Fantastic spot for good Vietnamese food! I love the ambiance because it's cozy but more upscale than most Vietnamese places I've been to. Service is pretty good as well. The last time I came my boyfriend and I shared the beef pho and bun cha. The beef pho was pretty standard with great broth but the bun cha was a standout dish. The meatballs were so juicy and had so much flavor that balanced well with the pickled vegetables. It's a must try!

Popped into Bodega for a much needed meal after flying into San Fran. Since it was just me I was able to walk in and grab a seat at the bar, but there was a line for parties of 2+ that waited for a bit before getting in. Two lovely gentlemen behind the bar were knowledgable and friendly. They walked me through the food menu, giving descriptive explainers and suggestions for pairings off the menu to make for a great meal. I grabbed the Nom, the Bo Tai and the Bun Cha which, as warned to me, was probably too much food for one person. I was starving and everything looked good, I just had to try it. The Nom is a Green Papaya salad with Spiced Beef Jerky. Super crispy, bright, fresh and delicious. Looks like noodles, is papaya! The Bo Tai Chanh is layers of Seared Filet Mignon topped with Sweet Onion, Thai Basil, Crispy Shallots and a Citrus Nuoc Mam. Also a cold dish, but super flavorful and rich. I also took some of the onion and shallot topping with some slices of the filet and added it to the bowl that I layered the third dish in with to blend the flavors. The Bun Cha is listed as "Heritage Pork Belly, Meatballs, Pickled Carrots & Kohlrabi" but they're doing it a disservice but only stating that. What it is truly, is a magic medley of goodness. The pork belly is thinly slices and soaking in the most flavorful broth i've ever had. Whatever fatty pork belly you're imagining has been rendered out and down and you're now left with meaty thin flavor bombs. The meatballs are flat patty like and lovingly seasoned. The pickled elements and kohlrabi float amongst these meats in the broth all getting to know each other. Served with a healthy portion of noodles and greens you have so many ways to enjoy. I loved the broth so much I used the small bowl off to the side they provided to make little noodle soup servings. Layering noodles, broth, meats, herbs and pickles in perfect harmony. Truly I was blown away and could not stop trying everything. Absolutely worth going and if there is a wait, stick around - it'll be worth it.
